The Sunlight Foundation has compiled lists of House and Senate filings and documents that are only available on-site from the offices of the Clerk of the House or Secretary of the Senate in Washington, DC. Sunlight's blog posting The House and Senate's Public - But Not Online - Documents (28 August 2009) links to the lists for the House and the Senate, which have been added to the OpenCongress.org wiki.
Each document title on the list links to further information. The documents are organized into four segments:
- House/Senate documents/filings available on Capitol Hill and online
- those available on Capitol Hill but not online
- those not made publicly available at all
- those made available online by another government office, not the House or Senate
- Speaker Pelosi Directs Statements of Disbursements Be Posted Online (This is expected in the fall.)
- Success! Senate to Post Expenditure Reports (This is in the Senate version of the Legislative Branch Appropriations bill, which is pending House and Senate agreement on a final version.)
