Minnesota-based GovDelivery has acquired GovLoop, a social networking site for government employees and consultants around world. Librarians, including SLA/DGI members, use the GovLoop group 'Libraries - Local, State, and Federal'. The site is also heavy on information about government use of social media and '2.0' tools.
From the GovDelivery press release:
GovLoop, the premier social network for the government community, has joined forces with GovDelivery, the world’s leading provider of government-to-citizen communications solutions.
Steve Ressler, GovLoop founder and president, will continue in his role leading the fast growing GovLoop community. As part of this agreement, GovLoop has become an operating division within GovDelivery.
