YouTube, User Records, and Copyright

A post on Wired details a judge's decision to order Google to turn over YouTube records that detail user names and IP addresses to Viacom.  Viacom is currently suing Google over copyright infractions on YouTube.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has called the decision a violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act and believes that this move "threatens to expose deeply private information."

What are your thoughts on this decision?
