The nominating committee offers the following slate:
For President-Elect (three year commitment): Abby Thorne
Biography: Abby Thorne received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education, Communications, and Leadership and a Master of Science degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky (UK). She has served as Technology Training Assistant and Agricultural Experiment Station Historical Archives Project Coordinator for the UK College of Agriculture and as Project Coordinator, Special Projects Technician, and Library Intern for UK Libraries.
Abby currently serves the Kentucky Chapter of SLA as a Director-at-Large and Bulletin Co-Editor. She also serves as Director and Webmaster for the Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition Division and Assistant Editor for SciTech News for the Science-Technology Division.
For Secretary (two-year term): Jacqueline Bartek
Biography: Jacqueline Bartek is the Library Services and Resource Specialist at the Asphalt Institute in Lexington, Kentucky. After earning her MLS from the University of Kentucky in 2005, she joined the Asphalt Institute to manage library operations and promote library services and activities of the library to its staff and member companies. Jacqueline has been a member of SLA since 2003.
For Director-at-Large (two-year term): Angel Clemons
Biography: Angel Clemons is Government Publications Cataloger at the University of Louisville's Ekstrom Library, a position she has held since January 2002. She is responsible for the acquisition and cataloging of government publications in all formats. She is currently Chair of the Technical Services Section of SLA's IT Division.
Other nominations must be submitted within 15 days of this notice (by 5pm EDT on August 5, 2009) to the Chair of the Nominating Committee. Such nominations must be accompanied by the signatures of ten chapter members. The election will be held 45 days from today (voting would begin on Friday September 4, 2009), by electronic ballot. Details will be announced closer to time.
