Judy Tapiero, Chapter Director and UMD iSchool SLA Student Chapter Liaison, has been organizing a series of "chats" in which practicing librarians and iSchool students talk about what it's like to work in different types of libraries and alternative settings. Yesterday afternoon, I had the chance to share my experiences of life after library school, starting a new job, staying current and relevant, and more. The students asked great questions and provided insightful comments, and its encouraging to know that these incoming information professionals are so knowledgeable and thoughtful.
To find out more about participating in a chat as a student or professional, contact Judy Tapiero [judith (at) theorganizedlibrary (dot) com].
The next chat is on Thursday March 26, 5-6pm in the iSchool 4th Floor lounge, highlighting Law Librarians.
