Spruce up your strategic planning
skills, share ideas, and enjoy a light dinner May 14th when the Maryland
Chapter of SLA hosts a lively strategic planning presentation by Betty Jo
Hibberd of Dialog.
In tough economic times, it’s
crucial to have a plan! Strategic
Planning for the Information Center is a 90 minute, interactive
presentation which highlights critical strategic thinking concepts and
tools. Whether you are a veteran information services manager or a newly
minted professional, you will discover fresh insights and solid ideas to apply
when you return to the office.
Betty Jo Hibberd, Senior Manager in
Market Development at Dialog, is our speaker and facilitator. Betty Jo
will cover the four key elements of strategic planning: mission, vision,
positioning and alliances. She'll discuss the fundamental steps needed for
evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of our information services in light of
broader organizational goals. Everyone participating in Betty Jo's
discussions will be empowered and encouraged to envision future
alternatives for their information services, and create tactical action plans
to achieve workable objectives.
We’ll eat as we learn. A light dinner of assorted sandwiches with side
salads, fresh fruit, small desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages is included in
the ticket price. Parking is convenient and free.
Plan to join Betty Jo Hibberd,
members of the Maryland Chapter, and colleagues from across the
Mid-Atlantic region for Strategic Planning for the Information Center.
