Recently, the
Maryland SLA Chapter supported Haitian Earthquake relief efforts by
donating $250 to the international
medical humanitarian organization Doctors
Without Borders. The Chapter Board
would like to thank Chapter Member Kathie Sweeney for recommending giving to this worthy organization saving
lives in the field.
I urge you all to help support the Haitian relief effort in
any way you can, either personally or through your workplace. The need is very dire as Haitians struggle to
survive almost a month after the quake.
On another front of need, there will be a unique SLA Service project at SLA 2010 in New Orleans (June 11-14). The SLA is partnering with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity to offer opportunities for you to help with hands-on home-building as the post-Katrina recovery effort continues.
