A small but festive group of about twenty Maryland Chapter members and colleagues attended the Holiday Cheers and Celebrations! party on December 9, 2010. Our venue was the Contemporary Museum in downtown Baltimore. Guests escaped from the chilly evening into the warm gallery, where they chatted while enjoying the cash wine bar and delicious buffet of heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts, including mini sandwiches, crab dip, and sushi. Partway into the evening President-Elect Ashley Conaway, organizer of the event, opened the formal proceedings by welcoming guests. President Sean Henry then called the group to order for a short business meeting, where he reviewed the year’s highlights, thanked the current Executive Board and activity chairs, and introduced the new 2011 Executive Board. Sean then introduced Edna Paulson, Hospitality and Awards Chair, who presented the first Chapter Champion awards to Susan Fingerman and Christine Olson. Ashley presented a gift to Sean from the Chapter, then reviewed the past year and shared remarks about the Chapter's 80th anniversary, and presented door prizes. After adjournment, networking continued over coffee and desserts, and guests enjoyed the museum’s current exhibit, portraits by photographer Ben Gest. Our sponsor for the evening was Thomson Reuters.
