Job Qualifications:
The Program Administrator supports University Housing's Residential Management System (RMS) and other departmental information systems by performing high-end web software application development with underlying relational database technology. Under general supervision, provides technical support to the department performing assigned duties. Responsible for technical and design issues, and maintenance of application programs. Develops, specifies and documents application changes and improvements. Troubleshoots and corrects issues within areas of technical responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science and a minimum of two years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Proficiency with relational databases, e.g., MS-SQL or Oracle, and capability with Crystal Reports or some other industry-standard business intelligence report writing tool, e.g., Cognos or Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.
*Experience in developing object-orientated software applications using RDBMS, Web Services, XML, Java (J2EE, JRUN4), .NET, and Coldfusion MX. Strong hands on experience in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and enterprise wide Content Management Systems (CMS).
*Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 4 or similar web development tools.
*Proficiency with integrated office products like MS-Office that include word processing, spreadsheet and database management capabilities.
*Proficiency with communications software.
*Position requires ability to interact effectively with all levels of administrative and support staff, demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written skills.
Preferred:
*Experience with RMS or similar university housing management application software.
*Experience with web application design and publishing tools.
*Minimal one year experience in support of a Microsoft LAN.
