General Description:
Under the direction of the Library Site Manager:
Works as part of a team delivering quality public service tailored to the local community
Performs a variety of administrative, professional and technical duties within the areas of collection development, programming, information literacy and community outreach
Assists in the training and development of branch staff
May serve as the Site Manager's second-in-command
Performs related duties as required
Eligibility Requirements:
ALA accredited Master's degree in Library and Information Studies
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated oral and written communication skills, flexibility, reliability and the ability to handle detail orientated work
Strong commitment to public service with ability to work well with a diverse patronage
Successfully demonstrated knowledge of computer services including on-line searching and Library databases
A background in public librarianship preferred
