Centenary College of New Jersey is seeking to fill the position of Supervising Librarian/Reference/Service Desk in the Taylor Memorial Library. The Supervising Librarian/Reference/Service Desk reports directly to the Director of Library Services.

Responsibilities Include
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
1. Supervision of Inter-Library Loan, reference and public service desk and staff
2. Primary provider of information literacy/library instruction
3. Schedules library instructions and maintains instructions statistics
4. Supervises Inter Library Loan and serves as Inter Library Loan backup, using OCLC and JerseyCat
5. Primary provider of reference service provider for faculty, students and staff
6. Handles all virtual reference requests
7. Expert knowledge of library databases
8. Knowledgeable about current library trends and practices pertaining to information literacy and reference
9. Provides online reference service via Q&ANJ
10. Thorough understanding of the library circulation system
11. Supervises, posts and follows up on library maintenance requests
12. Development of print and digital library and information literacy resources, including updating the library web page
13. Oversees the maintenance of the library collection
14. Provides the director with weekly activity reports
15. Marketing of library services
16. Communicates and provides liaison with academic departments promoting library information and instructional services
a. -Assists students in trouble shooting basic computer issues
b. -Provides resolution of basic printer issues
c. -Assists Director with special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
1. Master of Library Science Degree from an ALA accredited institution
2. Demonstrated, quality attention to detail
3. Excellent computer skills including web design skills
4. Well informed with a broad range of knowledge
5. Dedicated to providing a high level of public service
6. Prior supervisory responsibility
7. Commitment to, and support of, a diverse community
8. Adaptable and flexible
9. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
10. Must be able to work evening and weekends
