Assistant Director
The award-winning Princeton Public Library, located in the heart of a thriving mixed retail/residential neighborhood, 2 blocks from the Princeton University campus, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director.
Guided by the library’s mission to enrich the lives of others by connecting them with ideas, information, technology, resources and each other, the Assistant Director plays a critical role in positioning the library as the community’s living room. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the library’s day-to-day operations including: collection development, technical services, and coordination of services to children, teens and adults, and oversight of information technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university and 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in library management, administration, operations and considerable supervisory experience. The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills and experience in the areas of strategic planning, budgeting, facilities and capital projects.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position begins at $80,000 and is commensurate with experience.
