Department
The Web Strategy team is responsible for transforming Moodys.com into a consistent, value-maximizing platform for clients to access our research, data and analytical content. We examine the web usage trends of our clients, gather competitive intelligence, conduct focus groups and design reviews to ensure that the voice of the customer drives our continual improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
The group has recently re-launched a new version of our flagship website and continues to integrate more content from our subsidiaries to create a world class customer experience. We are seeking an associate for our New York office to support and improve our Search and Discovery systems.
-Maintaining and extending the existing taxonomy enabling the Guided Navigation experience on Moodys.com
-Developing and managing a thesaurus of standard terms
-Coordinating meta-data development in support of the taxonomy changes
-Proactively monitoring user search behaviours and adjusting the relevance ranking strategy based on identified trends
-Recommending improvements to the search interfaces and search result presentation with the goal of increasing user conversion
-Maintaining and improving the authorization system
-Responding to product related questions raised by sales/marketing/analytic staff
-Managing development cycle and coordinating launch of changes which includes responsibility for creating the required documentation, testing and rollout support.
-Coordinating and assisting in product User Acceptance Testing
Qualifications
-2-3 years of Business Analysis, Information Architecture or Product Management experience in the area of enterprise content management with the emphasis on content search and navigation within the Financial Services, Legal or Retail industries
-2-3 years of OWL/RDF taxonomy creation and management using TopBraid Composer (preferred), Protégé or a similar tool
-2-3 years of experience with Endeca (preferred), Fast, Autonomy, Vivisimo, Coveo or a similar enterprise search engine
-1-2 years of Endeca Query Language (EQL) highly desirable.
-Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, XHTML and XML
-Knowledge of Xpath or XQuery a plus
-Javascript, PERL or another scripting language a plus
-Understanding of semantic web concepts and technologies
-Ability to work pro-actively and multi-task
-Ability to work using own initiative and without close supervision
-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including very good presentation skills
-Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels, with both internal and external parties
-Individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented and be able to manage several projects at once.
-Library Science degree preferred.
