Position Summary: The Princeton University Library, one of the world's most respected research institutions, serves a diverse community of 7,200 students and 1,100 faculty members, with more than 6 million printed volumes, 5 million manuscripts, and 2 million non-print items. More information can be found at the Library's Web site: http://libweb.princeton.edu/ Available: Immediately Major Responsibilities:The Library Financial Analyst is charged with assisting in overseeing the financial operations of the Library. Principal duties include: Reviewing and verifying all monthly financial statements to confirm transactions were posted as processed and resolve mistakes when identified. Preparing financial analysis reports. Assists with collection, oversight and reporting of annual statistics. Maintain existing, and create new spreadsheet, database and web applications as needed to improve financial administration efficiencies. Assist with year-end closing activities. Make recommendations to improve financial systems; perform in-house audits of operating units; analyze deficiencies and report to Fiscal Officer. Assist in formulating and refining short and long-term financial goals and budgeting. Assist with preparation of grant proposals and applications to include compilation of data and preparation of budget expenditures; monitor and verify expenditures; ensure compliance with University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures; prepare administrative reports. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Twenty-four (24) vacation days a year, plus eleven (11) paid holidays. Essential Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills for the Position Required: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or related discipline. A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting, finance or fiscal management, preferably in higher education. Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets and relational databases required, Excel and Access preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred: Experience working with PeopleSoft.
