Responsibilities
As the Electronic Resources Librarian, you are responsible for coordinating and supporting the collection and management of print and electronic resources at MSKCC Library. The successful candidate will:
*Ensure that access to electronic resources is available to MSKCC employees and students at all times.
*Maintain and update electronic resources via our link resolver and the Library Web site.
*Contact aggregators, vendors, and publishers for price quotes, invoices and annual renewals, and license agreements. Develop strong relationships in order to effectively troubleshoot access and content-related issues.
*Participate and work with other staff members on content-related projects.
*Develop workflows and adapt best practices to facilitate the Library's future accelerating transition to online collections.
Qualifications
*Masters' library science
*3-5 years library experience in a professional position working in electronic resources and/or serials management.
*Experience working on projects and teams.
*Solid experience independently supervising a library service/function.
*Demonstrated experience working with an integrated library system (Innovative Millennium preferred.)
*Experience with standard cataloging software and computer applications, and bibliographic utilities such as OCLC.
*Working knowledge of link resolver technology and related databases.
*Knowledge of serials management, scholarly publishing, and electronic licensing.
*Experience troubleshooting electronic access and subscription related problems.
*Understanding of COUNTER compliant usage statistics.
Familiarity with EZProxy, digital library tools, and standards (XML, HTML, OpenURL, DOI, RSS, Library 2.0, etc.)
*Understanding of open access and open source related issues.
*Knowledge of copyright and licensing issues.
*Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Macromedia.
