Job Opportunity
Job Title: Associate, Knowledge Management
Location: NY Headquarters
IAVI’s KM associate helps with the implementation and development of IAVI’s web-based document and content management systems, which includes IAVI’s Portal and web sites. Key roles include:
• Intranet Quality Assurance - review intranet sites, document findings, make suggestions for improved usability, and take appropriate corrective actions as directed by WCTM. (Leads)
• Management of the Knowledge Center - according to new Knowledge Center Plan (Leads)
• Development and maintenance of organization taxonomy as it relates to organizational document management (Team Member)
• Administrative and Project Support to the Knowledge Management Team
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the Intranet Quality Assurance process (Site Reviews); evolve and document the Site Review Methodology. Conduct, document and follow up on Site Reviews. This includes surveys, the KM Lessons Learned Wiki; pilot lessons learned process for potential rollout more broadly to the organization. (ongoing - 40%)
• Manage the Knowledge Center; classify, upload and review the Knowledge Center on an ongoing basis in accordance with the new Knowledge Center plan. (ongoing - 10%)
• Taxonomy: suggest, maintain and implement taxonomy for document management (ongoing – 10%)
• Assist with the KM sites, including KM Team site, Portal Rollout Site, Website 3.0 Site, M&E Site, UOS site. (ongoing - 10%)
• Provide administrative support to KM team (schedule meetings, update project documents, distribute meeting minutes, etc.) (ongoing - 10%)
• Provide support to end-users under the direction of the SharePoint Business Analyst . (as needed - no more than 20%)
• Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). MS Visio.
• Strong understanding of MOSS 2007 features including Content Types, Search, Navigation, and all out of the box team site features
• Excellent understanding of web site usability best practices
• Experience working with stakeholders to elicit and document requirements in an incremental improvement model
• Strong commitment to findability, usability, and detail while keeping in mind real-world constraints
• Ability to work well as part of multiple project teams
