The Culinary Institute of America, the world’s premier culinary college seeks a user-oriented and innovative librarian to fill the position of Information Services Librarian.
Reporting to the Library Director, the Information Services Librarian provides reference and research services to students, faculty and staff of The Culinary Institute of America, and is also responsible for library orientations and programs of information literacy. The librarian takes an active role in exploring, evaluating and implementing existing and new technologies to meet the information needs of the CIA community.
Required:
• MLS (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited library school
• minimum of two years experience providing reference services
• knowledge of trends in library technology
• excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
Desirable:
• experience working in an academic or public library
• experience in library instruction and information literacy
• knowledge of social networking sites
• knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• experience helping patrons use computer software
