Director of Library Services
Globe Institute of Technology is seeking a Director of Library Services. Globe is a private four-year college located in the greater New York Metropolitan area. The college provides innovative and specialized degrees in the business, information technology and healthcare administration fields.
The Director of the Library is responsible for the administration and planning of all library operations and reports to the Academic Dean. The Director will manage the day-to-day operations and short and long term planning of the library.
Responsibilities:
-Participate in the creation and implementation of library policies and procedures
-Coordinate collection development
-Supervise and manage library staff
-Collaborate on short and long term planning and budgeting for the library
-Administer the implementation of an information literacy program
Requirements:
-ALA accredited MLS
-Professional library experience
-Knowledge of information technology and bibliographic resources
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Understanding of current issues in higher education
-Building strong relationships with faculty members, students and the staff
