Summary / Definition:
Reporting to the Associate State Librarian for Library Development, the person in this position will function as the project specialist for the State Library's services to the business community, including statewide and regional business organizations, committees and agencies.
Examples of Work:
- Make presentations and offer training in latest technologies to business groups and organizations.
- Develop and conduct training sessions on available databases for use by businesses and entrepreneurs.
- Investigate and recommend strategies to demonstrate the value and use of libraries to the business community.
- Identify best practices in libraries' services to business community and offer training to replicate those practices statewide.
- Develop partnerships with state and national business organizations, committess and agencies that are mutually beneficial.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
- Eligible for New Jersey Professional Librarian certification.
- Minimum one year experience managing a regional or statewide project.
- Experience and knowledge of current business databases and current technologies.
- Ability to develop and conduct training sessions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license for statewide travel. Requirements:
Education: Master's degree in Library and Information Science Experience: Commensurate with the level of expertise a project demands.
