Reports to: Director of Libraries
Terms of Employment: Primarily on the Elizabeth Campus. Maximum of 19 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Evening and weekend shifts as needed. Must be able to work at any of all three campus libraries.
General Description: Provides reference and instruction services to users of the Union County College Libraries, in addition to other projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists patrons in finding information in a variety of formats, either at UCC or elsewhere.
2. Instructs individual users in the use of the libraries.
3. Works with faculty and the Bibliographic Instruction Librarian to provide instruction to groups and classes, as scheduled.
4. Keeps statistics of library services rendered while on duty.
5. Assists with special projects and programs as needed.
6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Libraries or his/her designee.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. American Library Association accredited MLS.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Strong reference experience.
4. Strong Library instruction and/or teaching experience.
Preferred: Academic Library experience strongly preferred.
