The library is seeking a well-rounded information technology professional to complete our IT team. In addition to being the primary administrator for our Millennium Integrated Library System (ILS) and RFID checkout system, this position will have shared responsibility for supporting the library’s IT infrastructure and maintaining all PC systems, applications and equipment.
As a member of a small team, the Library Systems Administrator will have the opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities which will include:
Working closely with staff to ensure optimal development of technology-based public services and staff applications
Participating in library-wide department projects, workflow, and service analysis/improvements
Supporting applications for institutional data and databases, as well as their presentation on the Web, mobile and other devices In conjunction with IT team
Administering the library’s integrated library system and related hardware and peripherals in Windows and Linux environments
Performing system maintenance, upgrades, enhancements and modifications
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues using a help desk ticket system

Experience and background
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration is required. Experience with Windows and Linux environments, database reporting software and applications, SQL and basic knowledge of scripting languages such as, Perl, Javascript, PHP, Python or Ajax is required. Highly desirable experience includes: Microsoft Network Server support (certification is a plus), Drupal maintenance and module support, project management and technology training.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science/information technology or a related field or technical certification with experience in a similar position is required. MLS from an ALA accredited library school is a plus.
Schedule and Compensation
35 hour workweek including some evenings and weekends
Salary is commensurate with experience, $50,000-$65,000 range
