The Widener University School of Law Legal Information Center in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a creative, user- focused librarian to manage our Access Services Team.
This position is responsible for overall administrative responsibility, including leadership and direction, for all Access Services areas which includes circulation services and its related functions; electronic reserves; interlibrary loan/document delivery; current awareness; and library physical facilities issues. This position leads our efforts to plan, develop and coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures relating to patron services. The Access Services Librarian Team Leader also coordinates with technical services librarians regarding integrated library system issues and is responsible for creating user guides, current awareness tools and assisting patrons in using the library's electronic resources; works with the Circulation Supervisor to oversee the daily operation and scheduling of student workers in the law library and participates in providing high-level, in-depth reference and research assistance including participating in our faculty liaison program and in the evening and rotating weekend reference responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS
M.L.S. or M.L.I.S. from an ALA-accredited institution required. J.D. preferred. Demonstrated knowledge or experience with one or more automated library circulation systems. Knowledge of Innovative Interfaces Millennium library system preferred. Experience in academic library or law setting preferred. Familiarity with legal bibliography and/or legal research, as well as with library reference work preferred. Demonstrated interest and expertise working with technology. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Supervisory experience preferred.
