Under the supervision of the Director of the Jerome Robbins Archive of the Recorded Moving Image, the Producer of Dance Original Documentations and the Rights Clearance Analyst, the Rights Intern will assist the Library in its efforts to make its collections more broadly available to researchers and the public at large while respecting contractual obligations. Specific responsibilities will give the Intern the opportunity to gain experience and learn how to:
•Collect and review contracts and other documents associated with recordings in the archive.
•Create an analysis of the documents, noting the permissions granted in the documents and whether the Library is missing any agreements with rights holders.
•Digitize and organize documents for future ingestion into the Rights Database.
•Review the archive’s current standard release form. Research and suggest improvements to the form, culminating in a proposed redraft.
•Other rights tasks as assigned.
