Engaging with LIS Students in Second Life

On Friday, October 17th, from 4:30pm to 7:00pm SLT (PT) there will be an event designed for LIS students in Second Life.

Engaging with LIS Students in Second Life begins at Cybrary City II (SLURL) at 4:30pm SLT.

  • 4:30 pm SLT, Tour of SLA with Jill Hurst-Wahl - Jill is speaker, author, librarian, and senior instructor.
  • 5:00 pm SLT to 6:00 pm SLT  Panel discussion including:  Dr. Tu, LIS Professor at the University of South Carolina; Plautia Corvale, Librarian in Colorado and Team Member for the Emerald City Project in Second Life; Scott Brown from Sun Microsystems; and Rocky Vallejo, Cataloger and manager of several islands for the Alliance Library System.
  • 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm SLT, participants are invited to INKA's Place on Eduisland 3 (SLURL) for a Suzen Juel Resistance Concert.
  • We hope to see as many LIS students as possible! If you don't have a Second Life avatar yet, get one today at www.secondlife.com. And don't forget you can learn more about SLA through the free ClickU workshops on Second Life.
