The Multiple Blogs of Second Life

In February, the Second Life Blog morphed into multiple blogs because the volume of blog postings, comments, and discussion threads had become unwieldy.    Separate channels were developed for features, community, working inworld, technology, land and sea, and press.  You can subscribe to an RSS feed for individual blogs such as technology or feature.  Or you can subscribe to all of the blogs or certain aspects of the blogs such as postings, comments, trackbacks.  The feed link appears on the side

Some of the channels have sub channels.  For example, the Community blog, has subchannesl on Eureka--the SL Travel Blog, TNT--Second LIfe Tricks & Tips, Eduscape--Education in Second Life, and On Call-Support News and Information.

A brief review of some of the blogs revealed several helpful bits of information.  TLinden  described how often residents upgrade to the new viewers and how long viewers are usually supported in Supported Viewer Versions.   Torley Linden offered 5 Fun Facts for MOTD.  Message of the Day (MOTD) can actually extend more than one day."if it is deemed useful"
