SLA in SL Looking for a Few Good Sponsors

SLA in Second Life - Phase 2
The SLA in Virtual World Advisory Council has recommended that SLA revamp the association's current space that is available today in Second Life. We would like to create a warm, welcoming and informative space for SLA members and others interested in SLA and the information world to collaborate, learn about SLA, have events/chats and share information and knowledge.

To accomplish this next phase of SLA in Second Life, we would like to brand the space and to establish some foundational elements that will allow us to create additional features over time in a consistent and immersive way. The foundational elements include:

• Creating an enhanced space with various ways to learn about SLA;
• Revamping the area and meeting spaces to have both open and closed forums: open meeting spaces, a few meeting rooms, general open space, paths to walk around the space and learn about SLA, exhibits in one place, calendar of events, SLA branding
• Creating a timeline of SLA in SL (leveraging the traveling exhibit and content from the SLA site)
• Providing information on SLA's virtual worlds strategy and a link to the SLA in VW strategy document on the wiki site
• Feeding in the SLA Twitter stream and blog entries into the SLA Second Life space; providing dynamic information and ways to connect with SLA (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs)
• Providing a feedback board so folks can leave questions or ideas on overall topics and on specific topics, such as the alignment initiative
• Establishing a ClickU space for information on ClickU, and for future ClickU development
• Creating SLA video displays

We are raising $5000.00 to provide these basic features and functionality and are asking for sponsorship for key information partners and SLA divisions and chapters. Once these basics are created, we will move forward from there based on the needs of and input from the members and divisions and look to further enhancements to prepare for possible 2010 activity in Second Life.
 
As a sponsor of this phase of SLA in Second Life we will be providing thanks and recognition by offering the following (please sponsor what amount you can):

• Organization / division logos/links on a walkway and/or signage in the space
• If sponsoring the space, the sponsoring organization may come and speak about their products, division or unit and/or when we hold events
• We will provide an intro to Second Life session for your team if you would like
• Special avatar t-shirts or other items to give away with the sponsor logo  
• Links to the the organization / division from Second Life with a notecard with additional information (we will work with the right people to have it say what you would like)
• First opportunity to be a sponsor and get involved in any 2010 conference work for SLA in Second Life
