At the closing session of the 2010 SLA Annual Conference, the traditional conference statistics were posted--over 3,000 registered attendess, over 1400 vendors, and for the first time ever, over 100 virtual attendees.
What the virtual attendess lacked in numbers, compared to the live attendees, they made up for in numbers of questions asked and thoughtfulness of the questions presented. Whether it was the Opening Session with Mary Matlin and James Carville or any of the excellent Spot Light presentations, it seemed like every other question came from a virtual attendee. Many of the active participants were familiar SLA names.
The comments that the Virtual Worlds Council have recived so far have all been very complimentary of the Virtual conference experience. Cindy Hill did an excellent job as moderator.
Did you attend the virtual conference? What did you think?
I attended the virtual conference and would like to thank the VirualU staff and especially Cindy Hill. Cindy was great in breaking the ice amongst attendees (although some of us didn't have to be encouraged too much!). Cindy was also a valuable connection for us to the real world conference!
