The new logo really deals more with wi-fi than virutal worlds. It is a symbol that more closely aligns with virual worlds than the blue person reading a book. This blue man is tuned in, but not plugged in.

Cool logo and certainly useful for many situations. The thing is that it is almost outdated, though, because mobile communication via whatever hand- to book-sized device is quickly becoming the norm.
