Join Us!
Founded on the belief that diversity is a key competitive advantage, the Inclusion Caucus has formed to partner with SLA units and provide a clearinghouse for the activities and best practices that promote inclusion. Everything we do is affected by the people with whom we work; join us as we learn how to understand and effectively collaborate across the broad spectrum of difference.
Caucus members enjoy:
- a Web blog providing top-level surveys of the latest information relevant to inclusion http://sla-divisions.typepad.com/sla_inclusion_caucus/
- online discussion space and document library in the SLA community of practice http://cop.sla.org/COP/InclusionCaucus/
- business meeting and social gathering at SLA's annual conference http://www.sla.org/content/Events/conference/ac2006/index.cfm
- informal mentoring to build the skills you need to see the world and work with it
In keeping with SLA's definition of diversity, the Inclusion Caucus welcomes members from all backgrounds and encourages discussion of ethnicity, geography, political views, religion, sexual orientation, gender, ability, and age. With the many SLA units already working to represent the unique needs of these groups, the Inclusion Caucus is a partner AND a place in which to highlight all the good work being done throughout the membership.
Caucus co-conveners are Linda Absher and Liz Blankson-Hemens. To add the Inclusion Caucus to your existing membership, please send a check for US $12 with a note specifying the caucus name to:
