The Summer/Fall issue of Military Libraries is now posted on the MLD website at http://military.sla.org/newsletter-2/archives/. In this issue you will find the Corporate Commons column by Maryhelen Jones, featuring Dr. Anne Marie Casey (Library Director at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), as well as member summaries and a few photos of sessions from SLA this past June.
A few things about upcoming issues of Military Libraries: • If there is interest I would like to experiment with some issues focusing on themes of interest to MLD members. I welcome your suggestions on potential topics. • I would love to have some additional “columnists” and/or people interested in taking responsibility for coordinating sections of the newsletter. If you have an idea for a column you’d like to try, please let me know. For example, wouldn’t it be great to have a regular section with book and/or electronic resource reviews of special interest to military libraries? Or a column featuring the special collections at one of our member libraries? Or how about a column featuring a different innovative use of technology at one of our libraries in each issue? Just to throw out a few ideas… Also, the Member News could really use some beefing up. If anyone is interested in soliciting, gathering and compiling this information for the newsletter please let me know.
The deadline for submissions for the next issue is January 15, 2012. I hope some of you going to MLW in December will contribute something about it to that issue. Please send your submissions or other emails related to the newsletter to me UNENCRYPTED at
Thank you! Ann Jacobson
A hearing will be held Wednesday.Fox contends that if McCourt is looking to raise more money, he should sell the parking lots around Dodger Stadium, rather than try to maneuver around an existing TV contract.“Foolish talk,” the Dodgers countered, noting that the lots are owned by a McCourt subsidiary, Blue Landco, that is not in bankruptcy.
