*Ontologies for Knowledge Mapping and Discovery*

We will have copies of Brandy's book available for sale for $70 (this is a
20% discount plus a small shipping charge) -- we can only accept exact cash
or a check.
Agenda:
5:30pm to 6:00pm: Registration, networking, booksigning, and snacks
6:00pm to 7:00pm: Brandy King, author of Finding the Concept, Not Just the
Word: A Librarian's Guide to Ontologies and Semantics, will present an
overview on ontologies: how they are different from other knowledge, how
they are contructed, why they are useful, and how they are helping people
find information. Matt Johnson from Harvard's Center for Biomedical
Informatics will follow by providing a specific example of how ontologies
are helping scientists discover new information about autism.
