The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a Librarian for the Georgia Campus located in Suwanee.
The Librarian (Georgia Campus) reports to the Associate Library Director (Philadelphia Campus). The position manages operations of the GA Campus Library, articulates library policies and procedures to users, and communicates program needs and user recommendations to Library Administration. This position participates in the educational program, collaborates with faculty to identify opportunities for training in information literacy within the curriculum, and delivers lectures, workshops, and online training materials. Also provides reference services for faculty, staff, and students and assists them in using library resources. The Librarian also provides circulation services and supervises library staff. The Librarian represents the library on GA Campus committees and in the local library community.
MLS in Library or Information Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum 2-3 years library experience required, with preference given to candidates with experience in biomedical or pharmaceutical library services. Qualified candidates will have a high level of computer proficiency including expertise in the use of electronic databases and full text e-journals. A strong service orientation and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, is required. Previous teaching experience desired.
