At this year's SLA Leadership Summit (held in January in Louisville, Kentucky)
Stephen Abram, the association president, delivered his address to the attendees and his slogan for the year, Innovate in 2008. He spoke on SLA's value proposition - networking, learning, advocacy - which brought to my attention the value of SLA membership. From his speech, and Janice LaChance's speech, I also learned what the association is striving for, or working towards.
