Job Description - Electronic Services & Emerging Technologies Librarian

POSITION SUMMARY:
Management and maintenance of library’s public interface of electronic resources and website content including databases, research guides, and other discovery tools. Oversee library’s social media presence including Facebook, Twitter, RSS feeds, blogs, and wikis. Identification, evaluation, and implementation of emerging technologies including e-books and e-readers, mobile technologies and applications, and open source, open access and collaboration tools. Provide reference assistance and bibliographic instruction as assigned. Collaborate in media streaming and digitization projects. Participate in library planning, policy-making, and committee work. Evening hours required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate degree from ALA-accredited library and information science program. Experience implementing and managing electronic services, and developing web content. Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with MS Office. Ability to work in a continuously changing environment and affinity for new technology. Flexibility in work schedule and duties. Ability to work independently, managing a complex workload effectively with minimum supervision. Commitment to customer service and working in a collaborative environment. Preferred experience working in an academic library. Demonstrated experience identifying and meeting faculty needs through new library initiatives and services. Post-secondary teaching experience and second graduate degree.
