Job Description - Liaison Services Leader

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Assistant Director for Customer Services and fosters a creative team-oriented work environment while leading the reference department, integrating information technologies to enhance user services and collaborating with the departments of access services, information resources, ILL, and the Family Resource Center (located within the Golisano Children's Hospital). This position coordinates liaison services within and among the academic environment, the hospitals and the community. The successful candidate provides vision and leadership in the development of new programs and services, evaluates existing services, procedures and policies, teaches library skills, contributes to evening and weekend coverage and is actively engaged in professional organizations and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
ALA-accredited MLS or commensurate degree with relevant experience required. A minimum of three years experience in a supervisory capacity with evidence of creative and successful team-building skills; a demonstrated commitment to providing a premier customer experience; evidence of developing and implementing successful partnerships; demonstrated evidence of initiative and flexibility with planning and problem-solving, and proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as both a team member and independently to promote teamwork amongst colleagues required. Experience in a health sciences library preferred.
