POSITION SUMMARY:
Syracuse University library seeks a service-driven, knowledgeable and innovative librarian for the position of Resource Sharing Librarian. This position reports to the Head of Access & Resource Sharing and works closely with librarian and supervisor colleagues in Circulations & Reserves, Delivery & Retrieval Services, other areas of Access & Resource Sharing, and Library Information Technology Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS completed by start date. Demonstrated interlibrary loan/resource sharing experience thorough working knowledge of ILLiad. Ability to lead and efficiently manage the daily operations of resource sharing services and staff. Experience with, and a commitment to, high quality customer service for all library users. Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn and effectively use emerging and rapidly-changing technologies to meet public service and resource sharing objectives. Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively and efficiently in a demanding and complex service environment. Demonstrated organizational and creative problem-solving skills. Proven ability to establish and meet service deadlines. Demonstrated flexibility, initiative and resourcefulness. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Experience with interlibrary loan/resource sharing in an academic library. Supervisory experience. Experience working with WorldCat Resource Sharing and Odyssey. Understanding of copyright issues in an academic library.
