Job Description - Instructional Design and Technology Librarian
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Provides library instruction (face-to-face and online).
- Develops online tutorials/learning modules.
- Assists with Library website development and maintenance.
- Provides technical support for other library technology and instruction projects.
- Participates in reference, instruction and liaison duties including evening and weekend responsibilities in rotation with other librarians.
- Committed to keeping up to date with technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- MLS from an ALA accredited program or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years professional library experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Information literacy instruction and support experience.
- Instructional design experience.
- Website design experience.
- Familiarity with mobile/social media applications, including collaborative productivity applications (like GoogleDocs).
- Experience in database creation and reporting.
- Excellent skills with Windows 7, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
- Reference/Information service experience.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred:
- Experience with integrated library catalog or other database systems.
- Learning management systems application development.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, XML/XSL.
- Experience with library applications such as EZProxy, Illiad, Aleph and Exchange Server.
- Background in science or math.
