Nancy Stimson [email protected] is one of the lumniaries of our division. Blog readeres may well recall her prior call for discussion on how we BioMedical & Life Sciences Librarians might help our journal article authoring clientele to comply with new rules mandating the deposition of their NIH-funded article in PubMed Central 12 months at the latest, from the time of their intial publication.
I am now happy to post her call on behalf of the DBIO Strategic Planning Committee:
- The newly formed DBIO Strategic Planning Committee needs your input about the division, its strengths and weaknesses, and where it is going…and where you think it *should* be going. The second division board meeting at the annual conference in Seattle on June 18 from 8:15 to 9:30 PST will be devoted to this topic.
- We are thinking about having a call-in session during the board meeting where those of you who can not come to Seattle could call in with comments, suggestions, questions, etc.
- PROPOSAL : If we arrange for the ability for you to call a toll-free number during the meeting on June 18, would you phone in?
- PROPOSAL : For those of you who are attending the conference in Seattle, will you come to the board meeting in person to make your opinions known?
- Please send a message to Nancy Stimson at [email protected] with your answers to these two questions so that we can better plan the meeting and make sure to have the appropriate technology in place. We want to make the division’s strategic planning process as interactive and member-focused as possible.
- Thank you! (Nancy Stimson)
Colleagues: In closing, let me remind all of our DBIO blog members and readers that this is your blog as much as it is mine. DBIO-related topics and professionally relevant announcements that you submit are very much welcomed for consideration of inclusion.
