Cast Your Vote in the SLA Board of Directors Election

There's still plenty of time to vote in the 2011 SLA Board of Directors Election. You will be able to cast your online ballot through 5:00 p.m. EDT on 29 September 2010.

Please click on www.sla.org/evote to vote. Your SLA UserID and Password are noted at the bottom of this e-mail.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR VOTING

1. Go to the SLA e-vote system at http://www.sla.org/evote.
2. Log in to the system using your SLA UserID and Password, shown below.
3. Click on the ballot name -- "2011 SLA Board of Directors Election."
4. Review the board candidates and positions up for election.
5. At the bottom center of the ballot, click on the "Click to Continue" button.
6. Review the choices for each position, then check the box for the candidate of your choice.
7. Click the "Click to Continue" button.
8. Review your selections, then click the "Vote" button.
9. You have now completed the voting process. Congratulations!
10. You can view and print your receipt or exit the e-vote system.

The role of the cybrarian

According to a recent Career Builder article posted on CNN, technology has played an evolutionary role in some of today's job opportunities.  With the five careers that are listed in the article, cybrarian made the list.  According to the article, cybrarians possess all the research and data gathering skills of the traditional librarian, but end up applying that knowledge to online technology. 

I think most information professionals can be called "cybrarians" and have been merging technology and research skills long before that term was coined.  How does today's librarian ensure that their clients don't think of them only in terms of books and journals?
