RE: Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy program At Columbia University
Dear IT members, we have developed a master degree program with Columbia University for those who work on KM, knowledge services, and knowledge strategy. We think the program has important implications for knowledge strategists in many fields, including information technology.
* The Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy program (http://ce.columbia.edu/Information-and-Knowledge-Strategy?utm_source=AYProspect&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=IKNS_Announcement_2011-2-9) is a sixteen month integrated program taught in a hybrid in-class and online format, framed by three short residencies on the Columbia University campus in New York City. The program teaches students to plan, design and evaluate initiatives in knowledge and information across a wide spectrum of global environments, including corporations, government, educational and nonprofit institutions. Students also develop a critical insight into the legal, social and cultural factors that influence an organization's ability to leverage information, and learn to analyze, manage and solve problems that impact process, human resources and technology.
* The Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy (http://ce.columbia.edu/Information-and-Knowledge-Strategy?utm_source=AYProspect&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=IKNS_Announcement_2011-2-9) is ideal for mid-career individuals looking for new challenges, those who want to expand or extend their current roles, and current or future entrepreneurs who recognize the opportunities to create new ventures in the knowledge domain. It takes an original and pragmatic approach to the exploration of emerging professional opportunities in this field.
* The full program description is available at: http://ce.columbia.edu/Information-and-Knowledge-Strategy?utm_source=AYProspect&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=IKNS_Announcement_2011-2-9 .

This sounds like a great program. Getting into IT during a master's program, with its growing necessity, sounds pretty important.
