I spoke last week with an SLA colleague who mentioned that there may be a need for members to know learn how to best market their skills. OCLC recently published From Awareness to Funding: A study of library support in America, concerning public libraries, but the overall theme is also applicable to special libraries. (Of course, some special librarians work in the public library sphere, too.) It should come as no surprise: "Perceptions of librarians are an important predictor of library funding support." Stephen Abram posts on the report at Stephen's Lighthouse.
