Currently, the New York, New York office is searching for a Senior Licensing Analyst to join the team.
The Senior Licensing Analyst focuses on data analysis and knowledge management as it relates to our relationships with third-party publishers and prospective publishers. The analyst will be part of a team of professionals dedicated to bringing product information through the system from consideration through launch and then in interchanging information with publishers through the life of the product.
• Proactively identify and communicate changes to the products, such as changes of title, changes of publisher, frequency, and delivery of content
• Track key departmental activities and provide regular and ad hoc communications and/or reporting on license renewals, royalty reviews and changes, and contractual compliance requirements
• Ensure delivery from publishers new and revised product information for Ovid web-based catalog and support Content Production’s needs for content delivery from the publishers after contract
• Track the evaluation, prioritization, licensing negotiation, and delivery of content from specified publishers
• Generate product-level and publisher-level reporting as needed.
• Identify knowledge transfer gaps from external publishers to product management, publisher relations, marketing, and content production and to brainstorm and promote specified improvements to the information passage
• Investigate data anomalies and consistencies to identify root causes and prioritize fixes
• Maintain high-level awareness of publishing industry trends and best practices, and working knowledge of publisher industry data interchange and digitization standards.
• Train internal and external stakeholders on Ovid’s Partner Information Center and similar systems as needed.
Qualifications: The Successful Senior Licensing Analyst will have:
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate effectively and to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
• High level of proficiency in the MS Office suite, in particular with advanced knowledge of Excel and Excel pivot tables.
• Must develop competency in in-house business systems and be willing to learn additional computer programs and systems as required.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively within a global team.
• Flexibility in adapting to changing needs.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently. Good organization skills and ability to multi-task on diverse projects.
• Knowledge of electronic publishing, journal publishing, book publishing or database development preferred.
• Experience working with other industry vendors/aggregators a plus.
