JOB SUMMARY:
Touro College Libraries seek an energetic and detail-oriented librarian to work part-time (20 hours) with the Information Literacy Director of the Libraries to promote information literacy in-person and in web-based learning environments, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate must have knowledge of effective teaching pedagogies and the technical skills to create online Library instruction classes that enhance information literacy and critical thinking skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIIES:
Responsible for the following but not limited to:
* Assists in building an online information literacy course
* Assists in incorporating information literacy concepts into the curriculum
* Becomes an embedded librarian in Blackboard courses
* Develops and designs instructional tools for face-to-face and online instruction
* Keeps up-to-date with emerging technology trends
REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Preparation, and Training
* Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited institution
* Two years plus instruction experiences in an academic library setting
* Knowledge of current and emerging trends in teaching and learning in academic library instruction
* Experience teaching information literacy concepts in an academic library setting
Skills
* Experience working with Blackboard
* Excellent interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

* Extensive time sitting and standing
* Able to lift up to 5 lbs.
Computer Skills
* Proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
