Overview:
A User Experience Design role on our team is a multi-disciplinary one requiring both technical and creative skills, and the ability to consult and advise. UX Designer may play one or all of the roles below in a given project. UX Designer works directly or indirectly under UX group leadership and interacts directly with business customers. Consults on various projects providing advice and guidance from a UX perspective.
UX Research:
Meet with stakeholders and business leaders to gather requirements for projects. Researches audience for projects and conducts research via various qualitative and quantitative methods to understand the user segment and their unique needs. Evaluates the current state of products to identify areas of strength and areas of improvement. Conducts market research to see what the competition and the market in general is doing in response to similar problems. UX Designer then synthesizes this research into specific documents, ideas and suggestions to inform the design phases of the project. Must scope project based on research findings.
IA/ IXD:
Using research data, creates the Information Architecture and Interaction Design for product/project. Deliverables include: site maps, process flow diagrams, page description diagrams, taxonomies, sketches, wireframes, static and interactive prototypes. Annotates documents as necessary to facilitate development.
Visual Design:
Creates production ready visual design for interactive projects. Creates branding assets as well as page and interface elements and optimizes them for use online. Uses UX visual design principles to influence user behavior and fulfill the goals of the project. Deliverables include visual comps, branding assets and optimized web-ready graphics.
Front-end Development:
Using IA, IXD and Visual Design files, creates or modifies client-side code including HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build web ready files. Uses generally accepted web standards separating structure from style. Tests and optimizes code for various web browsers and devices. Interacts with back-end developers to fulfill functionality of website.

Our small group consists of UX designers, developers, content strategists, and communications specialists, who work together on the full experience of employees especially as it relates to technology. From redesigning websites, to building custom applications, creating communications and content, to evaluating the experience of physical spaces, hardware and software, our team covers the whole experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred
