We are seeking a Director of Content Operations to lead the large-scale curation, management and ingestion of digital images and video. This is an exciting opportunity to drive content quality and operational excellence at one of the most respected and creative marketplaces in the world.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team responsible for Shutterstock’s image and video standards, marketplace integrity, and operational planning and logistics with respect to managing content.
- Oversee the ingestion, evaluation and approval of over 10,000 image and video assets per day. Increase operational capacity and throughput while reducing costs and time-to-market.
- Manage processes, tools, technology and workflows to ensure that content operations are increasingly productive, scalable, reliable and effective.
- Collaborate with the legal team to enforce intellectual property standards and policies to ensure the highest levels of collection integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement in metadata, editorial and quality standards to increase the overall quality of the collection.
- Oversee supply chain forecasting, planning and modeling.
- Establish and improve KPIs and related metrics.
- Develop a scalable and efficient resource model for content operations.
- Optimize cross-departmental workflows and relationships.
- Manage independent contractors and vendors who supply workflow tools and resource solutions.
Requirements:
- BA / BS in relevant discipline with at least 5-7 years experience in general operations, supply chain logistics, image or video distribution workflows, or large-scale Digital Asset Management (DAM).
- Skills in project management, program management or resource planning.
- Ability to identify, prioritize and execute process improvements.
- Confident and collaborative leadership style, with the proven ability to coordinate solutions through multiple teams.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create partnerships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in eCommerce environment, media or technology company preferred.
