Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements library policies and procedures, long-term objectives and short-term planning.
- Prepares the annual budget for equipment, serials and audio/visual materials. Monitors the expenditure of funds, maintain records, and recommends budget adjustments.
- Manages the placement of orders and/or subscriptions for databases, monographs, serials, media materials, and all other library resources with appropriate vendors.
- Respond to individual or group inquiries.
- Coordinates the licensing of e-book packages, databases and other resources as needed.
- Works with faculty to provide library instruction to groups and classes.
- Works in cooperation with Librarians and Library Administration to develop bibliographic instruction materials and services.
- Promotes and implements mediated instruction, interactive media conferencing, and other related emerging technologies.
- Participates in collection development activities.
- Assists in preparation of user guides and other library wide informational materials.
Qualifications:
- ALA accredited MLS degree required.
- A minimum of 3 years of extensive and responsible experience in the management of a library facility.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to speak and/or make presentations before groups and conduct effective training.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications in library and office environment.
- Ability to approach projects in a practical and professional manner, with strong creative, problem solving skills.
