Midtown Manhattan literary center seeks part-time Head Librarian three days a week to oversee all library functions and small related bookshop. Ideal for the librarian who wants to once again select books for specific patrons, talk about books with eager readers, practice reader's advisory on a daily basis, and get to know a core group of readers and writers who appreciate books, literature, reading, and writing. You will be that lucky librarian who will meet and discuss books with both well-known authors as well as developing writers. This is not a job about being a computer jockey, a social worker, or a cop. It's a joyful opportunity to work again with books, and though not full-time, it’s a great supplemental income. Duties include day-to-day circulation activities, book acquisition, cataloging, donations and bequest processing. Strong organizational skills and reader advisory experience with focus on literary fiction and mystery & suspense a must. Send resumé and cover letter to Executive Director, The Center For Fiction, 17 E. 47th Street, NYC 10017 or email to Noreen Tomassi at [email protected]. No phone calls. |
