San Diego’s contributions to the nation’s aviation history and technology are unparalleled. The San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Library & Archives house the third largest collection of aerospace related books and archival materials in the country.
At this program you will have the unique opportunity to see it from an insider’s point of view and to visit areas not open to the public.
Program
- Katrina Pescador, Head Archivist since 2005, will present an overview of the Library & Archives, including current efforts to preserve the collection.
- Kathy Wright, volunteer and former head librarian at SPAWAR Systems Center will discuss the challenges involved in the recent RECON project.
- Tour of the Library & Archives, including storage areas in the basement where Museum volunteers work to restore old aircraft.
