Fifty percent of the membership voted with 2,071 voting yes and 3,225 voting no. The proposed name of Association for Strategic Knowledge Professionals was not approved and the association name will become SLA.
SLA announced the findings this morning in a press release.
President Gloria Zamora has said that there will be no further efforts to change the name of this association, so SLA it is.
Following our recently adopted Strategic Plan, the San Diego Chapter of SLA will continue to provide opportunities for networking and professional development. We will advocate for our members through development of a consistent and powerful public relations strategy.
The San Diego Chapter is well positioned to take full advantage of the Alignment Project findings. We have strong leadership in place as well as creative and innovative members. I look forward to the possibilities.
